Yes, you have probably heard it – work smarter. But it’s beyond that or everyone else would already be doing it.
Working harder is most often a subconscious paradigm (or subconscious habit). We have been taught since birth to work hard and that it is the way to be successful. Unfortunately, while working hard can lead to success, it is not necessarily true. Many people work hard, yet do not experience success.
In fact, working harder can be the problem itself – because force negates.
Napoleon Hill stated in Think and Grow Rich: "If you are one of those who believe that hard work and honesty, alone, will bring riches, perish the thought! It is not true! Riches, when they come in huge quantities, are never the result of HARD work! Riches come, if they come at all, in response to definite demands, based upon the application of definite principles, and not by chance or luck."
Today, choose to re-frame your mind. There is a better way. It starts by re-aligning your mind, your thoughts, your feelings and actions with your goal and applying specific principles.
Everything goes by law. That is why you will sometimes see one person working hard who is very successful and the other who is working hard but not getting anywhere. Working hard is not the answer. In fact, when you are head-down, working hard, you are only working and not thinking properly.
Last but not least, you must make sure your goal is truly YOUR goal, what you really want for yourself, what inspires you, moves you and is WORTHY of you, your time, your efforts, and your energy. Too many times we pursue goals that are logical and what we think we should do but aren’t ours. Then you must learn to let go of the outcomes. If you live each day successfully, if you complete each task/goal-achieving activity successfully, your success is guaranteed. It’s not about working hard, it’s about living each day successfully and following certain success principles.
Today, I encourage you to:
#1 Let go of the idea and belief that you have to work harder to succeed
#2 Make sure your goal is really yours and that it excites you
#3 Think of ways to add joy, fun and creativity into what you do
#4 Study the principles of success (I highly recommend getting a mentor)
What are you committing to today?
